FAQ

What is unique about your counseling method?
Psalm 139:13-16 assures us that we are created by God and are not the product of an evolutionary process. We react to people, places and things differently because we are unique. We call that uniqueness temperament. Understanding your temperament gives a special knowledge of your inner workings (mind, will, emotions), which helps identify the pressures you feel from the world around you and from your weaknesses and desires. Although there are many different temperament combinations, your uniqueness can be analyzed by a simple Temperament Analysis Profile test. The Profile is a clinical test, developed by the National Christian Counselor Association, and takes only 8-10 minutes to complete. The information obtained through this test will help eliminate weeks of counseling because it gives insight into your basic traits.

Why do you recommend a temperament profile?
The profile helps the counselor understand how you react to people, places and things. The profile has been divided into three categories:  inclusion, control and affection. Inclusion describes how we react to superficial relationships. Control denotes how much we want to control our lives or have others control our lives. Affection denotes how we react to very deep relationships. Each of the three categories is further broken down into expressed and wanted. Expressed has to do with the way you express yourself in a particular category. Wanted deals with what you want from others in a particular category. Most people are a combination of temperaments, which makes testing even more important. A treatment plan can be initiated based on how you are wired internally, not behavior as a result of external circumstances. We deal with the inside, which affects the outside.
