Be Thankful ForSpiritual Gifts

All Christians Have Them

Text:  1 Peter 4:10-11 

 

 

One:  Be Thankful: If You're A Christian... You Have Spiritual Gifts

 

 

            1 Peter 4:10-11...  As every man has received the gift

 

 

Ephesians 4:15-16…   But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

 

The truth about Spiritual Gifts…

Everyone needs to Grow-up in Christ to use them

 

Everyone needs to recognize & value of what each member      

provides

 

Everyone needs to do his or her part according to the gift that God has given

 

The church edifies itself when everyone does their part... because they love each other as Christ loved the church

 

Two:  Be Thankful: If You’re A Christian… Your Spiritual Gifts Open the Door To Kingdom Ministry

 

 

1 Peter 4:10-11...  As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another,

 

 

 

            We are called to serve

Matthew 20:28 & John 20:21 … the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life... Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you. As My Father has sent Me, even so I send you.

 

Kingdom ministry serves and welcomes the ministry of others

 

 

Three:  Be Thankful: If You’re A Christian… Your Spiritual Gifts Are A Stewardship Opportunity

 

 

1 Peter 4:10-11...  As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

  

 

                        Stewards Manage for the owner…

 

                        Biblical Stewards are diversified… the manifold grace of God

 

                        Stewards understand that gifts are a manifestation of the Grace of God

 

 

Four:  Be Thankful: If You’re A Christian… Your Spiritual Gifts Demonstrate The Power Of God

 

 

1 Peter 4:10-11...  As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God gives:

 

 

When we speak... we are speaking as Ambassadors... representing the God of the cosmos!

 

When we serve, we are serving as God’s powerful hands in the earth

 

When we do what we do… it must be in the anointing and not our own will…

 

 

Five:  Be Thankful: If You’re A Christian… Your Spiritual Gifts Glorify God

 

 

1 Peter 4:10-11...  As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

 

 

                        Three mighty manifestations of Glory through the gifts in our life…

 

1.      "Jesus" will be glorified

2.      Praise will dominate the atmosphere where gifts are in evidence

3.      Jesus’ Eternal Authority (dominion) will be obvious

 

 

Close:  Be Thankful: for God's Gifts…

 

We all receive them… therefore we should all live in an "atmosphere" of thanksgiving

 

We receive gifts as instruments of Kingdom Service…

 

With gifts comes a stewardship opportunity…

 

We receive gifts in order to demonstrate the Power of God…

 

Finally... And most importantly... We receive gifts so God will be glorified!
