MISSION & PURPOSE

VISION:

"ILLUMINATE Student Ministries exist to

Be, Extend, and Ignite the light and love of Christ."

THE FIVE:
The five Purposes of Illuminate SM are: Find Connection, Personal Encounter, Develop Disciplines, Model Christ's Love, and Live the Mission.

FIND CONNECTION
The first thing that is essential for every student that comes through our doors is that they make a connection. It is important that each student find someone, whether it's another student or leader, to connect with. That connection is what will bring them back. Without it they could come and go and no one would know them and they might never feel a sense of belonging. We want every student at Illuminate to Find Connection somewhere in this ministry.

PERSONAL ENCOUNTER
Every student at some point needs to come to a place where they have a Personal Encounter with God. For a lot of students their first encounter will be salvation; giving their life to God, but this is not just limited to the first time salvation encounter. We want each student to have encounters on a regular basis with God whether it's in an Illuminate service, on a mission trip, at a retreat, or other events sponsored by Illuminate SM. These Personal Encounters become mile markers in their relationship with God.

DEVELOP DISCIPLINES
We realize that each Personal Encounter will never by itself sustain each student. They leave these encounters wanting more and in order to grow in their relationship with God, it is necessary to Develop spiritual Disciplines. Some of these disciplines are prayer, bible reading, fasting, worship, etc. It is our responsibility to teach these disciplines and encourage students to make them a part of their everyday lives.

MODEL CHRIST'S LOVE
In John 13:34, Jesus gives us the commandment to "love one another." In turn, we want each student in Illuminate SM to be models and examples of Christ's love whether it be through ministry, leadership, serving others, interaction, daily life, etc. and by this they will know that we are "His Disciples."

LIVE THE MISSION
All those who have a relationship with God are meant to live by the great commission, but God also has a unique mission, purpose and call for each student. This is the goal, that every student would Live The Mission that God has created for them. As they follow God's plan and His will for their lives it is our responsibility to offer encouragement and support.
